Issue Connecting Brave Rewards with UK Uphold Account - Not Supported Region Bug

Hello everyone,

I recently created an Uphold account and am based in London, UK. However, when I try to connect my Brave Rewards with my Uphold account, I receive an error message on Brave stating that: “Region currently not supported.” This is frustrating, especially since the UK is listed as a supported region.

I have already reset my Brave Rewards, cleared all cookies in my browser, and completed the verification process for my Uphold account, including verifying my ID and UK address with official Government documents. Despite these efforts, Brave Rewards still isn’t working for me.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Could this be a bug? Any advice on how to resolve it would be greatly appreciated.

@uk.media what country are you in? I know United Kingdom, but from whereabouts? I’m guessing it’s the location you’re in which is a problem. Especially if you’re in such a place as Ireland which is not entirely part of the UK and can cause headaches depending on documentation used.

The other thing to confirm is when you created your account, did you do so using documentation from United Kingdom or did you use a passport from another location?

Also kind of hinted, address isn’t good enough. Uphold’s API uses your passport to show what country you’re from. So when trying to link Brave Rewards to Uphold, it’s checking your country based on the passport…not your residence.
