IPhone very slow browsing

After struggling for 2-3 weeks using Brave as default browser on iphone, had to finally replace with Safari again. EVERY SINGLE SEARCH was SO PAINFULLY SLOW, regardless of topi or location. Don’t know if htis is an iphone tactic - or if I am doing something wrong. Brave is very fast on desktop, but on phone it sucks. Is there some way to fix this and be able to use Brave as my phones defualt browser?

Using iPhone model XR version 15.3
Yes, sync enabled for mail, etc
No, rewards did not seem materially necessary for me
Yahoo is search engine pre-programmed, did not pick it

Do you notice slowness when browsing websites or only when you make a search query with Yahoo?
