I have been unable to successfully download files in the last week

Hi.

Unfortunately, I have been unable to download files in the last week. Whenever I download a file directly from a website, it does not finish downloading.
I get a message saying “Download Unsuccessful.”

Ever since I started using Brave, I have always been able to download files completely.
This business about the file download being unsuccessful, has only been happening in the last week.
What could be the problem?
Is it fixable?

Please note that I am still using Windows 8.1 with Brave version: 1.47.186.
Please let me know if there is a method for fixing this issue.
