I’m trying another password manager safer than the default from Brave (which I assume is the default from chrome), which is not only safer but also I won’t loose all the passwords every time I change something in my Windows account, like changing the account password.
Anyway, since I have those passwords safely copied to a file and exported to the new password manager, I decided to remove them all from the Brave Password Manager.
Well, from some reason it can’t be done.
I tried the internal password manager’s settings:
…to no avail.
I tried Privacy & Security → remove navigation data (time period = All Time):
…again, it didn’t work, giving me this instead:
…“google” you say? Well, that’s odd, because I checked that out, and:
To be fair, google had passwords in there before, but I deleted them all on that google page, and then tried again several times to remove the passwords in Brave using both methods mentioned above, and it still doesn’t delete them, and still saying google has them.
And what about if google had them (besides the HUGE privacy risk that is)? I want Brave to eliminate them from Brave itself, what does google has to do with it?
I don’t have any sync with other devices.
Can please anybody tell me an alternate option to actually remove these passwords, even if it is just deleting a file in Brave’s profile folder?
This is really ironic and irritating: For 2 times at least, Brave deleted my passwords without me doing anything, with me having to trust a 3rd party software like Chromepass, and having to use a copy of some previous windows files and an old brave profile I had backup up, for Chrome pass to actually decrypt my passwords; and now that I actually want the passwords gone, it refuses… Seriously?
I’m almost certain in both cases is chrome fault and not exactly Brave, but you guys didn’t do anything to change things either.
