I cannot add my iMac to the sync chain (do not find "Brave Sync" in the menu)

I recently made the transition from Safari to Brave and I am very glad, that I have found a fast, privacy-focussed browser!

I would like to sync my bookmarks between my iMac, iPhone and iPad. While adding my iPhone to the sync chain, I do not find the entry for adding a my iMac as an additional device in the sync chain. I cannot find “Brave Sync” in the menu.

I have seen some posts that there were some problems with the sync feature, but I am not sure if this is still an issue Brave is working on…
