Description of the question for help:
Hide extensions (on MacBook) in the Brave browser - make deselecting difficult / impossible
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
just open the Brave browser and have a look at the extension icon (looks like a puzzle piece) in the top right next to the URL field
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
The puzzle icon as well as the “puzzle - Extensions” setting is visable and selectable:
I would like to be able to hide the extension icon (looks like a puzzle piece) in the top right next to the URL field in the Brave browser.
I would like to be able to hide the entry “Puzzle piece - Extensions” in the browser’s drop-down menu.
Overall, I would like to disable the possibility that I - or another user of my MacBook - can turn off or even remove installed extensions. (Background: all extensions I install have a purpose and MUST always remain activated.)
Reproduces how often:
“always”
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
MacBook Air, Apple M2, macOS Sequoia 15.3
Brave Version 1.75.175 Chromium: 133.0.6943.54 (Offizieller Build) (arm64)
Additional Information:
Who can help me with this?
@Burkhard this option is not available at this time. That said, we do have an open issue to improve/fine tune the extension drop down (“puzzle piece”) generally here:
I’ve gone ahead and reached out to the devs in the thread asking if including an option to hide the icon from the toolbar is within the scope of the project.
