@bbernardini,
Thank you for reaching out. To confirm, when you click on (for example) the notification icon in Facebook, the browser opens a new tab to the FB notifications page?

If so, can you test in another browser and confirm that this behavior only occurs in Brave?

That is correct. I tested it in both Chrome and Safari as well, and this behavior did not occur in those browsers.

@bbernardini,
Very strange. Do you have any extensions installed at this time? Additionally, can you try testing this behavior in a private browsing window as well?

Extentions currently running: AdGuard, F.B. Purity, Google Docs Offline, Google Translate, Great Suspender Pro, Honey, LastPass, Reddit Enhancement Suite, Save To Pocket

I tried it in a private browsing window, and it worked as expected. I clicked on the Notification icon, the notifications dropped down, and clicking on one opened it in the same tab.

@bbernardini,
Thank you for confirming.
So I’m fairly certain that one of the extensions you have installed is causing the issue – at a glance, I’d wager it’s the F.B. Purity extension but to confirm, can you please disable all your extensions and see if the problem persists? If not, re-enable them one at a time until you find the offending extension.

@Mattches hello there, you helped me out in the past on some of my posts before and you always gave me the answers i was looking for and i thank you, i would like to ask you something about facebook i have problems with for the past couple of months. but i dont want to make a post on here with out asking a brave admin first, is there anyway i can email you or something like that to chat so i can explain my problem before i post it public?

I disabled F.B. Purity, and the issue disappeared. Guess it’s time to contact that developer now. :wink: Thanks!

Addendum: I uninstalled and reinstalled F.B. Purity, and everything still works as it should.
