Description of the issue:
A side-loaded extension gets removed by Brave. I can stop this on Windows with managed browser settings but don’t know how to stop it happening on linux.
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
- Check Developer mode is on
- Load unpacked extension - (this extension replaces the new tab page).
- Check extension is working. It doesn’t do much so just select New Tab.
- Reboot and restart Brave
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
Brave does not load the extension. Instead it displays:
Extension blocked by brave.
Expected result:
I would like to disable this behavior or whitelist the extension somehow.
Reproduces how often:
Whenever the browser is reset I think?
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave
page in the main menu):
Linux 5.15.11-76051511-generic
Version 1.34.80 Chromium: 97.0.4692.71 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Additional Information:
Please note the extension is home grown. I do not use extensions from the chrome web store or any plugins likely to apply unauthorized periodic updates.
