Description of the issue:
Evernote Web Clipper extension fails with following message:
Clipper has encountered an error
Unknown error occurred. UNK

“Could not fetch ‘blob:https://cowboystatedaily.com/58a71b44-5bcb-4395-b9d4-

Additional Information:
It started failing in Brave on 5/17/2024, following upgrade to v1.66.110 - it works on chrome

Am experiencing the same issue on macos.

Exact same issue for me with the exact same error message. same version of brave and apple silicon mac os sonoma 14.5.

have disabled and renabled web clipper
reinstalled brave after a reboot
deleted and reinstalled the web clipper after a reboot

continues to fail.

Same issue. I have tested this extensively, and it is definitely a Brave issue specifically.

I have some isolated machines and have tested Chrome, Brave, and Firefox in various states (fresh install, incognito, other extension enabled/disabled, etc.)

On Brave, I have tested various security settings, reset all settings, enabled and disabled all other extensions.

Evernote Web Clipper is failing solely on Brave.

This will be a deal killer for me if Brave can’t adhere to the Chromium standards correctly, and I will abandon the browser if this isn’t fixed. I research and clip routinely in my work, and Brave seems to continually be creeping into hinky settings that break stuff.

I have the same issue.
It not a bug of the Evernote extension and it’s not related to Chromium. Evernote Web Clipper is working fine in Google Chrome and Firefox.
Brave browser is affected on Windows and Linux - tested with the latest available Brave version.

Same issue - MacOS Sonoma 14.5. Clipper works in Chrome, not Brave.

Same issue -
Windows 10
Brave: Versión 1.66.115 Chromium: 125.0.6422.112 (Build oficial) (64 bits)
Evernote web clipper: 7.35.0 (4 March 2024)
Work fine in Chrome and Firefox.

Same issue, 2 different PC’s
Windows 10, Windows 11
Version 1.66.115 Chromium: 125.0.6422.112 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Evernote Web Clipper: 7.35.0
Extension works as expected in Edge, Vivaldi, Chrome.

Bump.
Can Brave fix this, please?

I have the same issue, same error message on multiple sites. Please don’t make me use Edge.

Hi,

I am also experiencing issues with the Evernote Web Clipper in Brave on Windows 11. It was functioning perfectly before, and from reading this forum, it is evident that the issue is related to the latest update. Brave, we urge you to address this issue immediately and revert whatever changes were made in the update that caused this problem. This is causing a significant disruption to our workflow.

Thank you.

The same on Win10, Brave 1.66.115 Chromium: 125.0.6422.112 (Official Build) (64-bit), clipper Version: 7.35.0.1d54e7c

Any updates? Thank you, I hate using Google Chrome but the Evernote clipper is working fine there.

Hey, Brave? Any updates? This is a major issue and I’m using an alternate browser to solve the problem. Each day, I put more and more into using this other browser, and eventually I’m less likely to go back to Brave once the sunk cost of shifting my day to day work environment takes hold.

Also, am I supposed to expect that core functionalities in a chromium-based browser are going to stop working for weeks and months at a time? I can’t afford the time waste in this kind of unpredictability.

I’m about to abandon Brave.

I am having the same issue. I tried ‘bringing shields down’, but that did not help.

https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/38576 Patch is rolling out
