Don't understand the ":" function

Hi - new to Brave. I see in the Brave search function that I can use :d for DDG, :g for Google, etc., but I can’t figure out the : portion. What key or function on the keyboard is “:” representing in :d? I’ve tried searching in the community for these type questions, but cannot find them mentioned. Thanks!

@clayusmcret,
For example, if you enter:
:g [your search query], the query will be run on Google – the :g portion is the keyboard shortcut you enter in the address bar. You can see a list of the keyboard shortcuts used/that you can use in your browser by going to brave://settings/searchEngines:

Doh! I had seen the search engine list with keywords, but after reading your comment it finally made sense. Thanks!
