Hi, this is a request. On some sites, I prefer the Safari browser over Brave (sorry) but I also prefer Brave Search over the options that Safari has for defining a default search engine. So, I installed Brave Search as my default page in Safari. Next step would be to find a way to ‘hack’ search commands in the browser address bar. I noticed that Neeva has a Safari extension for this purpose. Could you develop something like that? Or make Apple to include Brave Search as an option in their list of search engines
I also share this view. I hope Brave Search becomes an option for Safari users.
This is becoming more important since the advent of Apple’s “Private Relay” technology that is sinking privacy conscious consumers into the Safari realm. Brave needs to find ways to extend the Brave search ecosystem deeper into operating systems like macOS and Windows.
I hit this thread because my macOS Spotlight results kept popping up web results in DuckDuckGo in my Brave Browser, even though I would rather there be no web results option in Spotlight (working on that) OR they be smart enough to go into Brave Search, rather than DDG search.
It’s getting awfully tricky to configure local user accounts to have the desired privacy options with all of the “let me handle your privacy” companies directing activity in their own directions!
If you install Alfred (must have app for Mac OSX, I use it religiously, and Alfred should send me something ;), you can default the fallback search to https://search.brave.com. Bada bing, Bada boom. It works.
