Clicking a link produces a new tab, which is undesired

When clicking on link from a webpage, a new tab opens to display what the link contains.

I believe this can be reproduced rather simply using the mobile application for Brave as it seems like it’s the default setting.

Instead of this, when clicking on a link, I would prefer that no new tabs open so the displaying of the link is contained to the tab from which the click on the link took place. In other words, everything is contained to one tab - no new tabs are formed when clicking on links.

This would make using Brave easier for me on Android.

Can you give an example sites where you encounter this issue?

The default behavior is Brave should open a link in the same tab.
