Cant link to Brave rewards after logged out due to inactivity. Initially able to log in with Uphold linked to the brave rewards via phone. But then now cant really log back in.

Yes and no. My document for verification with Uphold using Malaysia Passport but i have update with New Zealand address since I will be spending most of my time here in NZ.

Are you getting ‘Region Unsupported error’ ?
If yes, that is because Malaysia is an unsupported region for verification of Brave rewards at the moment. Since you used Malaysian Docs for KYC, Brave’s API sees you as Malaysian even if your address is one from NZ. That is because it checks for KYC docs nationality and not address, because Address is easy to fake but getting government docs is more legit and tough to fake.
I thought so that the reason is for unsupported region but i have linked it with Uphold and during August and September period I did get it link and payout was available. Only in October period it popped out logged out from Uphold due to inactive on my phone. Furthermore I did check that Malaysia is no where to be found in support or unsupported region. Only the ongoing Brave ads campaign is available in Malaysia. So i am just a bit confused.
Not sure I remember when Malaysia was removed. They started removing support for countries back around July and have had a few revisions since. Countries had been reduced to 18 and now is up to 28.
Brave didn’t directly disconnect anyone, so usually disconnects either just is browser side which occurs every 90-120 days or is because the User chose to disconnect. Until it disconnected, it would continue sending payouts.
If it disconnects on browser side, which may be what you’re seeing, it CAN still keep sending to your Uphold but you won’t be able to sign in and Verify through Rewards again. If it doesn’t send to Uphold, then it would send to your browser where it will be saved.
Yeah, because it’s only referencing support for people to link to Uphold and Gemini. It’s not stopping support for Rewards.
Well that’s a bummer, cause Malaysia is nowhere to be seen in support or not support. I was using my phone then got the notification that its logged out from Uphold and since then going nowhere either. Well, anyway, thanks for the reply.
It seems India is also out from the supported countries, I have no idea why do they come up with such decisions. We love bat as much as brave. But now NO MORE BAT feels off for many of us. Crypto is ment for everyone. I hope they relist our countries again.
@SmartyAadi Yeah, but it’s shown on them. So if you go to http://brave.com/transparency you can see Malaysia, which lets you know you can still see ads. There are 17 campaigns.
The other part linked was what we showed before, which is the 28 supported countries Brave supports, of which Malaysia isn’t there.
So that covers the idea of whether Rewards is supported. It allows for viewing ads and earning BAT but not for connecting to Uphold.
If he’s referencing Uphold’s, then that’s a different story. Uphold only shows countries they don’t support, which is https://support.uphold.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026786712-Non-Supported-Jurisdictions If country isn’t on that list, means Uphold supports you. But it doesn’t matter if Uphold supports them because this is referencing Rewards, so it matters more about whether Brave supports it at this time.
@wolvhe Yeah, it’s coming again eventually. They are hoping most countries will be back by the end of this year. We are waiting to see how that pans out. There’s been a lot of delays in the process.
