Re: Fraud brave and uphold

If Uphold will not provide you more information or respond, there is really nothing Brave can do. Brave and Uphold are two separate business entities and Brave has no control over Uphold’s business decisions. If you live in a country with consumer protection laws, that may be a route you want to explore per your Uphold account.

Is Gemini available? You could verify with Gemini if it is. Otherwise, if ad campaigns are available in your region and you are eligible to receive them, you can still receive ads and earnings. You Rewards will be unverified and can only be used for auto-contributions/tipping for now.

And ?
all the rewards i earn to give them away…nice trick to fool People
Brave should be Boycott !!

Chicoholic told you uphold has nothing to do with brave. This is an uphold issue.

Their relation is like your workplace and a bank. If the bank won’t give you an account, you also don’t go to your boss at work and complain about it.

If uphold for whatever reason causes you issues, try Gemini if available.
And well contact uphold about the issue. They are the only entity that can or can not help you

Dude they banned my account for no reason and also they can’t say the reason…so whom i should ask for help ? Your bank and workplace logic makes no sense for me

“Their relation is like your workplace and a bank. If the bank won’t give you an account, you also don’t go to your boss at work and complain about it.”
Reply> They had given me an account then after 5-6days they banned it…makes any sense ? i know both are different platforms but they must have Agreement or Something like that and they’re Linked with each other. The fun fact is Uphold Support Team said they can’t disclose the reason for account termination. Can you tell me ? if not then Don’t finger here and there

neither brave is my workplace nor uphold is my bank…i’m asking why and how did my account get terminated ?

Just want to know the bloody reason lol

For your kind information I’m not using Brave rewards anymore …It’s Useless…Simple !

Well, I thought it was a good analogy. If you direct deposit your paycheck (BAT) into your bank account (Uphold), then the bank (Uphold) cancels your account without depositing your check (BAT), the only thing your place of employment (Brave) can do is reissue you another check or hold your earnings for you (unverified Rewards earnings and balances) until your bank (Uphold) opens up your account or you find another bank (Gemini). Your employer (Brave) cannot force the bank (Uphold) to reopen your account or give you (or Brave) a reason why your account was closed.

Uphold will probably not tell you the reason because it was most likely a result of their fraud detection process. Most crypto related companies do not divulge fraud detection practices so as not to give bad actors even more information for ways to fraud the system. Uphold probably has a clause in their ToS about this that you agreed to when you opened your account.

I am not saying you tried to fraud the system. I am saying that you need to contact Uphold support about your Uphold account issues. Be persistent. If nothing works you may want to investigate and try any consumer protection options available in your country.

That is your choice. Personally, I would still use Brave Rewards even if I couldn’t verify with a custodial provider. Brave is investigating and planning to implement other options for Rewards which you will probably be able to use for any BAT balances in your unverified Rewards.

Also, you should probably back-up your Brave-Browser folder periodically, preferably to an external device, in case Brave or your OS crashes. You can restore your Rewards balance from the backup in most cases.

can i create bats backup? - #4 by CerealLover
Note: Consider backing up entire Brave-Browser folder and not just User Data folder.

Edit: Thought I should add links to recent changes made to Brave-Uphold supported countries. You may want to check if your country is still supported. I think Uphold did send out email notices.

Supported regions for verifying Brave Rewards with a custodial wallet provider

@Subrat04

Your latest post, brought to the Brave Browser > Brave Rewards . . . topic, issue that was your Original Post (‘OP’) on May 13, 2022:

Regarding the region on the planet, where you reside:

The Report Template is a bit of a problem.

Read about regions, including the additional information at the links:

In what region / nation, are you located?

Click the Get Geo Location Data button, at:

When you originally enable Brave Rewards - AND at that moment: you have no existing account at a Custodial Wallet Provider and Exchange, such as Gemini or Uphold . . .

Then your Brave Rewards account/wallet (lower-case ‘w’) is UNVERIFIED . . . and, when in that unverified status . . .

Brave Rewards ‘payment’ or ‘payout’ known as vBAT may accumulate in your Brave Rewards account/wallet (lower-case ‘w’). ‘May accumulate’ meaning, you are doing your part, in order to acknowledge the ads that are pushed to you, from Brave Rewards.

You may see the accumulation (probably shows as BAT) by using a Brave Browser > New Window, going to:

‘brave://rewards-internals’

Your issue is similar to that of @MommyRodz who resides in the Philippines:
