Cannot log into Pandora

**Description of the issue: I go to Pandora.com, click “Login”, enter my email address and password. Pandora gives me a message stating incorrect email or password. If I try to reset the password, Pandora sends me a link to reset, but then I get a message that says “something went wrong”. It is a vicious circle. I can, however, log in just fine with Firefox.

**Exact URL of the website in question: https://www.pandora.com/account/sign-in

**Did the issue present with default Shields settings? (yes/no) I have tried with Shields on and Shields off and the issue is present.

**Does the site function as expected when Shields are turned off? No.

**Is there a specific Shields configuration that causes the site to break? If so, tell us that configuration. (yes/no): No.

**Does the site work as expected when using Chrome? I don’t have access to Chrome. The site works as expected in Firefox.

**Brave version (check About Brave): Version 1.69.153 Chromium: 128.0.6613.85 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Confirmed I’m having the same issue.
Tried to reset my password and that didn’t work either.
Tried with Brave on Linux mint and on windows.
Private tabs didn’t help, Shields on or off, no extensions loaded.
I’m able to login using edge, so I think it’s brave specifically.

Support told me that Brave isn’t supported for Pandora even though I’ve used it for the last 2 years no problem.
Best I got is some JavaScript errors from the console. Some API that’s giving back a 400 on login.

Thank you both for reporting — looking into this now.

Out of curiosity, if you were to launch a guest profile (Menu --> More tools --> Guest profile) and try to login there, do you get the same results?

@SarnelliScience @TdyYrLove

Can you test enabling brave://flags/#navigator-connection-attribute

I tired that. That doesn’t work also. Maybe it could be the blocking of adds? When i tried to resign. it went on. The music played, but within 2 or 3 songs. it said to join

Same results using guest profile.

That works. Thank you @fanboynz !

Marking as solution.

@fanboynz shipped a fix, everyone should get it within an hour or so.

Disabling brave://flags/#navigator-connection-attribute no longer needed, fix is in shields. Pandora should just work

Ugh - I restarted my machine, still can’t login to Pandora? Do I need to do anything else to implement the fix?

Same exact issue. It still exists as of the “latest release” update on GitHub: Release v1.69.153 (Chromium 128.0.6613.85). However, enabling brave://flags/#navigator-connection-attribute does fix it.

  1. Navigate to https://www.pandora.com/account/sign-in
  2. Enter existing (i.e., working – and in my case previously worked on Brave) credentials
  3. Get error Incorrect Email or Password in bright red.

Note that this occurs even when you disable all Brave functions using the little lion icon and delete all cookies. Also note that the same username/password works on Firefox on the same computer.

Adding OS and other details:

Brave Browser Version 1.69.153 Chromium: 128.0.6613.85 (Official Build) (64-bit)
System:
  Kernel: 6.1.105-1-MANJARO arch: x86_64 bits: 64
Desktop: GNOME v: 46.4 Distro: Manjaro Linux

Was fixed upstream, see previous post. Just ensure shields is enabled.

With the latest Brave, I can log in if and only if Shields are Up. I think that’s an unexpected behavior change since I’ve used Pandora with Brave + Shields Down for a very long time without issue. Googling and finding this specific thread is the only way I realized I should even try to log in with Shields Up, since that’s usually a more restrictive setup.

But, I do appreciate the fix to be able to listen in Brave again, so thank you for that!

I had been using Pandora fine until today, and now I have the same problem listed here. I’m able to login to Pandora from Chrome but not Brave. The problem I have is exactly as described in this thread. I am on Version 1.71.114 Chromium: 130.0.6723.58 (Official Build) (64-bit).

November 9, 2024 - same problem as original post.

Update: the problem remains when shield is DOWN, but is resolved by putting it back up.

Luckly Shields is default, just keep it up. The fix only applies when protected.
