Bug Report (Sending Link to other devices crashes desktop application)

I have no idea where to put this bug report so I’m going to put it right here (please consider providing a real bug reporting system for users). Well, the “Send to your devices” option from iOS to desktop crashes Brave on desktop. I think this is pretty bad.
I see that this not a new bug since there’s some old discussion about this, but anyway this happened to me the first time now. So apparently this was reintroduced with the latest update? Please fix it!

@jayx can you confirm your iOS version and Brave version?

Can you share any crash report ID’s from Brave://crashes?

Thank you!

Thanks for a quick reply. iOS version is 18.4 (as updated this week), Brave iOS app version is 1.76 (77). Brave desktop version is
“Version 1.77.95 Chromium: 135.0.7049.52 (Official Build) (arm64)”. There seems to be one crash report ID on that page, and it’s 89d50700-958a-a30d-0000-000000000000

I wonder could this bug be related to the recent iOS update and not so much Brave itself?

Thank you @jayx, I’ve sent to the team for further review.

Hi
I am having the same sync issue with a Windows 10 device where the desktop crashes every time I send the page from my android device to the desktop.

I have updated the mobile browser, updated the desktop, even re-installed it. I have removed the Sync key ad re-established (tried via mobile and desktop) with the same results. It was working in the past seamlessly. Have even tried clearing the cache with the same results

Desktop Windows 10::
Version 1.77.95 Chromium: 135.0.7049.52 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Android Version 12

Thank you, the bug was fixed. I guess this is a legit reporting system afterall

Thx @jayx, the fix was included in yesterday’s release https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/45198. Glad to hear it’s resolved your issue!
