Browser crashes

Description of the issue:
During what seems like normal activity within Brave such as simple browsing, and searches, the browser simply crashes about 2 times a day.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
I don’t know of any steps that would lead to a way to reproduce due to it being nothing in particular other than browsing or searching.
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

Expected result:
Simply put, to not crash

Reproduces how often:
At least twice a day on either device used, e.g., iphone, and ipad

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
ios v 1.48.1(

If you go to brave://crashes, is there any reports recorded?

This doesn’t exist for iOS. At least you can’t do things like brave://flags, brave://crashes, etc. This is only available on things built on Chromium. Brave built on iOS is essentially built on Firefox, but also using Webkit. So info has to be collected through the iOS device instead.

Does it crash as soon as you open Brave? When you type in a URL? As you scroll through pages? When you try to watch videos? When typing? Does it happen usually on specific websites?

If you can try to be a bit more observant and provide details like that, it might be able to help.

To build on what @SmartyAadi was mentioning, can you try to check for crash reports? Instructions are shared at but I’ll also type it below:

  1. Go to Settings on your device (not on Brave, but on your iPhone or iPad)

  2. Go to Analytics & Improvements

  3. Click on Analytics Data

  4. In the search bar on top, look for Client, this will be Brave. You will be looking for something that looks like Client-2023-15-XXXXXX.ips NOTE: (Do not pay mind to Client.wakeups_resource)

  5. Either click Share on the top right and then get method. Though when I tried this, it didn’t copy/paste for some reason. So you may need to copy/paste everything manually by highlighting. Guess go for whichever is easier for you.

  6. Share those details here.

Ok for example as I was posting about the crashes, I was watching bitchute, and during my typing on desktop, while video was playing on ipad the ipad bitchute video crashed.

I reopened the browser, the standard “oops we apologize” came up so I clicked restore tabs, I went directly back to the video and I clicked play and within 1 minute it crashed again, this happened 3 times in a row.

@144k I see you also opened topic over at Unable to use startpage search engine which might somehow be related if your phone is having difficulties. As I shared there, I can’t replicate the problem you’ve shared.

That said, could you also share which model of iPhone you’re using and which iOS version it’s on?
