Description of the issue: I am trying to move mh BTC from Coinbase (which I despise) to my Brave wallet. To my dismay, BTC is nowhere to be found in the Brave wallet. So I cannot import it or trade/swap it within my Brave wallet. WHY?

Is the issue occurring on a specific network? I use Brave brower on my laptop.

What operating system are you using? Windows 10.

Brave Version (check About Brave): version 1.61.104 Chromium: 129.0.6099.115

Additional Information: (Official Build) (64-bit)

Hi @Niceisnice, Bitcoin support is currently behind a flag. You can try it out by enabling it via brave://flags/

Hello jleonard

Being that I am a 70 years old dude and not familiar with the crypto or Brave jargon…

Can you explain CLEARLY what “behind a flag” means?

And give me step by step on how to fix that?

Much appreciated.

@Niceisnice he told you what to do. Did you not see the instructions that said "you can try it out by enabling it via brave://flags?

Go to your address bar like you are going to go to a website and type in brave://flags. Then you hit enter. This comes up with a list of features that can be enabled or disabled. Generally, you don’t want to change these unless you know what you’re doing as it’s mainly experimental stuff, things that are being worked on for future versions of the browser and all.

If you looked through it, you’d see Enable Brave Wallet Bitcoin support, which you can move to Enabled. Otherwise, the default settings is as shown below:

Hello Stephen

Yes, I saw that but there were no specific instructions on how to enable BTC wallet. Now I know, thanks to you.

Another issue: I am trying to move my BTC from Coinbase to my Brave wallet. I enter Deposit, then select BTC, then select BTC Mainnet to (supposedly) show a receiving QR code or make a copy of the long form string of code.

NOTHING shows up (please see attached). WHAT DO I NEED TO DO KNOW?

Please note: YES, I did restart Brave to activate BTC in my wallet and I created a BTC account.

Thank you for your help in clarifying this situation.

@Niceisnice ,

There may still be some bugs in the current Release version of Brave for the Bitcoin features.

Can you try setting up your wallet with Brave Nightly Version and see if that works for you?

Thanks for testing out this feature and reporting the bug.

Hey Joshua

As much as I appreciate your effort to help me, as an old fart (now 71 yo), and not a computer expert, I am too afraid to screw up anything by using Brave Nightly Version. So I will even pretend to try.

Could you put me on a waiting list to let me know when that issue is fixed and I will be able to finally transfer my BTC to Brave wallet?

Please let me know.

Happy New Year to you and all the Brave folks out there.

Mr. Alain Braux
