Brave Window multiplying endlessly on Alt + Tab

Description of the issue:

Hey there

So recently my Brave started behaving strangely. Sometimes when watching a video in fullscreen on Youtube and Alt + Tabbing to another window, my Brave window just multiplies and it seems to happen endlessly. When closing Brave through the Task manager the buggy windows keep appearing in the Alt + Tab preview until I restart my pc. No way to close them either.

I run Windows 11 x64, have already tried reinstalling Brave & disabled hardware acceleration. All my drivers are up to date and I also reinstalled my graphics drivers just to be sure.

I have been using Brave for multiple years now on the same machine and this just started happening recently. Strangely enough, in the Windows Button + Tab overview, these duplicated windows dont’s show up.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
I just watch a video on Youtube in fullscreen and then Alt + Tab to another window. Sometimes it duplicates, sometimes it doesn’t.

YEAHHH I HAVE THE EXACT SAME ISSUE

but luckily they know its an actual issue as I saw Mattches’ comment. I thought it was just me facing this, and I get pretty irritated

Try opening Task Manager and restarting the Explorer process.
