Seems similar to what’s happening with Youtube and older OS — let me tag @fanboynz to take a look here. You might try the solution suggested for the users encountering this issue with YT as well in the meantime:

## Description
Brave will instantly crash upon opening any Youtube tab, regardless if it is the homepage, a video, channel page, etc. Started 2:52 PM EST. Yes i am on Windows 8, no i dont have access or option to upgrade to Windows 10.
## Steps to Reproduce
1. Open Brave.
2. Open Youtube.
3.

Crash.
## Expected result:
Youtube opens/works.

Every time.

- Does the issue resolve itself when disabling Brave Shields? No, tested multiple settings.
- Does the issue resolve itself when disabling Brave Rewards? No, always off.
- Is the issue reproducible on the latest version of Chrome? Unable to test.
## Miscellaneous Information:
Crashes with videos played in sites like Discord as well.
If you think you know which sites they are, please let us know. It helps with insight into what else could be causing this to happen. If it’s not just YT/google, then I’ll need to add something else to that list to avoid crashes.
And as I listed in that post, there’s also uBlock Origin that can still assist with keeping those things from loading in this and other browsers. Not to mention fanboynz (a contributor who has posted in this very thread) mentions as much
