Hi all I have Brave version (1.57.64) on Mojave and on certain websites the browser closes unexpectedly, this is doing this recently (started a week ago), I would like to be able to find a solution urgently, thanks to all.
PS: I have the report provided by macos… where can I send it for review?
@ric-vjs ,
I assume that you are using an old version of the browser because you’re also on macOS High Sierra?
Can you also please tell me what sites specifically cause the browser to crash?
I’m on macos mojave 10.14.6 (a version higher than high sierra) and the version of brave is Version 1.57.64 Chromium: 116.0.5845.188 (Official Build) (x86_64)
Some specific web sites are:

Seems similar to what’s happening with Youtube and older OS — let me tag @fanboynz to take a look here. You might try the solution suggested for the users encountering this issue with YT as well in the meantime:

Crashes with videos played in sites like Discord as well.
If you think you know which sites they are, please let us know. It helps with insight into what else could be causing this to happen. If it’s not just YT/google, then I’ll need to add something else to that list to avoid crashes.
And as I listed in that post, there’s also uBlock Origin that can still assist with keeping those things from loading in this and other browsers. Not to mention fanboynz (a contributor who has posted in this very thread) mentions as much
https://github.com/brave/brave…
Brave Ad Block Updater - Version: 1.0.5004
in brave://components should resolve the Youtube crash.
Mainly affecting Win7, but wil also effect some older MacOS users.
Noob question, but how do I implement this?
Just click on update in brave://components Brave Ad Block Updater , assuming you’re having crashes with Youtube
Did that and got the message… ‘component already up to date’. (I’m having Brave crash out on clicking on YT. I’m using OS High Sierra 10.13.6)
Does that mean it’s just instantly updated? Youtube seems to be working now. Thanks for your help and efforts to resolve this.

If you are on MacOS 10.14 Mohave (like me), we can’t update to the latest Brave. When I had this issue I disabled "Trackers & ads blocking"under “Shields” and that solved my issues.
