Brave sync doesn't work

Description of the issue:

I synchronised my bookmarks, passwords and everything from another Blink browser into Brave. Just for safe measure I created a Sync Chain and copied the code into a safe place. I reinstalled Brave to see how the syncing works, I clicked “I have a code” and pasted it and waited forever for nothing to happen.

You would do better to either enable Google syncing or create your own account syncing like Opera and Vivaldi, which are also Blink browsers, but don’t sync with Google, but have their own syncing.

Sync doesn’t work

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. click on Sync
  2. click “I have a code”
  3. paste the code and wait forever for nothing to happen

Expected result:

all the content to become synced
