Brave Shield Issues

Description of the issue:
Brave Shields appear to be off by default. New sites that I visit show the shield as grey and says “Shields are down”. I also noticed that in my settings under Shields that I no longer see the standard or advanced shield options (see screenshot). I am running Brave Beta version 1.38.90 on Windows.
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Visit any site that I haven’t been to before.

Expected result:
Brave Shield should be orange and show the number of items blocked. Also, in settings I would expect to see the option to change the Brave Shield view between standard and advanced.

Same issue as well. Version 1.38.90 on Windows desktop.

Hello again. This solution via Reddit solved the problem for me:

Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data > Advanced > Site and Shields Settings

Clear it for all time .

Once the GLOBAL default is restored: Shields UP

Then, remember to return to: brave://settings/clearBrowserData and:

  • Set ‘Time range’ to: All time
  • Disable: Site and Shields Settings

. . . so Shield settings will again be remembered.
