I enabled Brave Rewards and wanted to connect to uphold. I live in Thailand (have another passport). I noticed Thailand is a suported jurisdiction and Uphold also allows Thai residents to open account, yet Brave Rewards seems to be unaware of that. So I have a verified Uphold account set up, yet am not able to connect it via the brave rewards options, as it keeps telling me that Uphold is not available in my region.
I tried to reset my rewards and use another country, then I do get to connect my Uphold account, yet I get a message that limits apply to my account and it gets removed out of rewards, yet uphold updates me that Brave was successfuly connected.
How do I get this all set up? I assume the limitations are due to the fact that I picked another country the the account, but I was trying to trouble shoot, now I am stuck.
No it’s not. If you look at https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/6539887971469-List-of-supported-regions-Custodial-payout-accounts you will see Thailand is not on the list of supported countries.
You may be correct in that you can have an Uphold account, but that alone doesn’t mean Uphold or Brave will allow you to connect Rewards to that account. There are a lot of various restrictions. As of this moment, Thailand is not supported for linking Rewards to Uphold.
It has to match the country you verified with on Uphold. So if you don’t have a passport from that country submitted to Uphold, it won’t match. And what you’re doing here is a violation of Terms by you trying to circumvent regional restrictions.
You won’t be able to, as it’s not an option. Your only choice will be to try for Solana, which is self custody (on chain) payments. This is currently by invitation only.
