Brave logs me out and clears cookies weekly

Description of the issue: Every Monday, It appears that Brave logs me out of everything and clears cookies (I suspect these are related). In particular, there is one website I use each workday and choose to stay logged in, but come Monday morning, I’m logged out even though I did not do so from that website’s end. I also began noticing that navigating to a website would result in me seeing the bottom-of-screen notification that the website uses cookies and asking me to accept, even though I’m positive I already clicked that. As best I can tell, there is not a setting within Brave that would clear cookies or Loggins weekly, otherwise I would simply change that setting
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Navigate to any website that has a bottom-of-screen notification that the website uses cookies. Click “accept all cookies”
  2. Also navigate to a website that lets you check a box “stay logged in”
  3. Navigate to both websites tomorrow to ensure that you don’t have to click “accept all cookies” anymore and that the other website has kept you logged in.
  4. 7+ days later, try it again to see that you now have to click “accept all cookies” again and the other website no longer keeps you logged in

Expected result: If I click “accept all cookies”, that it should stay that way forever. If I click “stay logged in”, that I actually stay logged in.

I have the same problem, only that it happens to me every day even in my wallet. I have the shields activated except for the sites where they wanted to keep the session active, I even have them in a whitelist

Can you check and see if you have any data set to be cleared “On exit”? Settings --> History --> Clear browsing data --> [On exit]

None of the checkboxes on that settings page are checked, so nothing should be clearing on exit.

curious if you have any kind of antivirius, antimalware, etc… software that runs weekly scans and clears cache, etc…

Malwarebytes runs daily scans (so if that was the cause, I’d expect cookies to clear daily, but that’s not what I’m experiencing), and I can’t find a setting that would cause Malwarebytes to clear cache either.

@Mattches extensions I have: Adobe Acrobat, Coinbase Wallet, Covenant Eyes, Dragon, GDPR Auto cookie consent, Honey, LastPass, Lustre, Malwarebytes Browser Guard, MetaMask, Social Fixer for Facebook.

So it’s highly likely that one of these extensions is causing the issue. Hard to tell exactly which one, but I see at least a couple of those are specifically cookie related. It’s unfortunate that this only appears to happen weekly because testing this theory might be a bit of a hassle.

However, the way to discern if this is the issue would be to either disable all of them and test to see if the behavior reproduces or (this is what I would recommend), create a new temporary profile and use it for a while and test to see if the issue persists in the new profile.
