Brave is telling me ads are no longer available in my region

Briefly describe your issue:
Brave ads have been available to me ever sense I got brave I think (roughly 2 years ago, in Ontario, Canada). Recently I had a power outage, and I noticed afterwards that my search bar wasn’t working. I eventually figured out that it had been set to “Google” (although that’s not what it was doing, that’s just what it displayed) and switching it back to “Brave” fixed the issue. Now I’m seeing that brave ads no longer work for me either - I’m being shown, “Sorry! Ads are not yet available in your region.”

What Operating System and Brave version are you using (Menu --> About Brave)?
Operating System: NixOS 21.11.20210829.8d8a28b
Brave version: Version 1.28.106 Chromium: 92.0.4515.159 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Is your browser wallet currently verified? (yes/no)
no

Are you using a VPN? (yes/no)
no

Are you in a supported region (see here for list of supported regions)?
yes

I’m still getting ads! Well this means I have no idea how long this has been an issue. I knew I was getting ads, and I assumed that meant that I was not having this issue before. Also, you can see in the picture that I have no BAT. I feel like this also shouldn’t be the case, but I suppose it’s possible that it was auto-contributed away (even though my auto-contribute has been turned off now).

On Version 1.29.77 Chromium: 93.0.4577.63 (Official Build) (64-bit) and it seems to have fixed itself.
