Brave browser Version 1.4.96 Official build collapses when the Keyboard viewer is open

I had the brave browser opened and listened to music on YouTube. I was chatting with colleagues on Slack and I needed a special key that I didn’t know by heart, so I opened the OSX’s built-in keyboard viewer and kept it open. After a minute or two the Brave browser suddenly disappeared without any notice.

I reopened and try to restore the session and then immediately closed again. After a while I found out that it keep crashing until the Keyboard viewer is open. I made a screen record of reproducing the error. See the youtube link to the private video below.

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open Brave Browser
  2. Navigate to any website (Facebook, Youtube)
  3. Open the OSX’s Keyboard viewer
  4. Wait or try to load other pages

Expected result:

The browser keeps being open and/or loads the required page(s).

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Version 1.4.96 Chromium: 80.0.3987.132 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:

macOS Catalina Version 10.15.3 (19D76).

same here…

I always have my keyboard viewer in standby on my macbook pro 10.15 OS version

At the start of installing and opening the Brave browser, it just shuts down…
I use the keyboard viewer a lot (a few keys are not working)
