Brave has gotten rid of the small search bar widget in favor of keeping the other one which is far too massive to fit on my home screen. I am requesting the old widget to come back.

my home screen widget disappeared yesterday, I thought I removed it by mistake. So today I went to add from the widgets there were only 2 brave widgets available; both massive. Why would they even remove the widget. This is just absurd.

Based on lurking around widget issue posts for a while, I feel that these requests will most likely fall on deaf ears.* They don’t seem to understand that many of us have honed the visual aspects and arranged our screens over the years to the point of muscle memory. I do realize that this will strike some as picky but I have invested a fair amount of time and effort to do so.
So, I made my own. Simple. Basic. Fits my use. Fits my widget stack.
I chose KWGT to do so but feel free to select your own app for whatever ascetic, privacy, customisation options, etc.
I edited up a button in a basic photo editor before adding it to the widget maker. It needs rounder ends but it works and I can set the size and opacity too.
TLDR: I installed KWGT widget maker and made my own.
*Edit: Glad to be proven wrong. Still using the one I made because I like it being mostly transparent.

I also just had the minimalist search bar disappear from my home screen. I don’t like the other bulky search bars so please bring the minimalist version back. Just a search box with virtually no border.
Basically like the search box that Chrome still has. Which search bar in the screenshot below do you think looks better?

I created an account just to complain about this. I absolutely hate this new search bar–it’s too fat and I don’t want the voice and private browsing options, just the search box. Either bring back the old one (which would be my strong preference), or at least add the option to toggle off the voice and private browsing options.

I also took the time to create an account here to say that I would like the cleaner looking search widget to return in the next update. I love the design of the brave browser and the simple search bar matches the app much better than what we are now forced to use.
