Bookmarks Sync keeps reverting to old Chrome version

Hello,

I have repeatedly updated my bookmarks on Brave and deleted all the old ones. It stays for about a week but then it reverts and loads dozens of defunct Bookmarks/Folders again which seem to come from a very old Chrome version because my current Chrome Bookmarks tab was, before switching to Chrome, the way I want it ie streamlined.

How can I ensure I keep the Bookmarks the way I want them after getting it setup?

I have the same problem and have not found a solution. Leaving Brave soon as this is a lot of work it is throwing away (several times now).
