Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Several websites require logins. They are blocked. I have tried everything including deleted the Brave link and reinstalling. The error message reads: Sorry, you have been blocked.
You are unable to access olbedge.net
- This applies to my bank account.
- I have been using Brave and have loved it until today. I cannot resolve the problem no matter what I try. Very frustrating
Expected result:
**Brave Version V 1.77.101
Additional Information:
You did not provide a URL to an example login page. For olbedge.net, the web client gets the following error page from the server:
403 - Forbidden: Access is denied.
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.
I get that same rejection notice whether I use Brave, Edge, or Firefox. That is not a web browser issue. It most likely is an issue of trying to directly drill into a site to where such navigation is forbidden. You need to get to that page by first getting to some prior page that then takes you to the target site. Since the error notes permissions or credentials issues, did you visit their home page, log into your account there, and then navigate using their links (not your direct link) to get to the same web page?
Lots of site will disable or reject direct links into their web site. You get there from somewhere else.
Another possibility is another server from which they retrieve data is down, unresponsive, or unreachable, like some database server is dead. You don’t mention how long this rejection has appeared. Has it been over 48 hours since you next tried to revisit the web site? Be sure to clear cookies and history before the revisit to ensure you are not trying to reuse locally cached copies of their web pages. If they change their web site, but you are using old copies of their web pages, navigation could be broken, or navpath authentication is no longer valid.
