Block ads without an extension?

Hey all.

This might be a really silly question, but i’m trying to work out how to block ads on Twitter. The shields are UP, but ads don’t get blocked anywhere (which i’m fine with, i’d prefer things to be allowed rather than blocked by default so i can chose)

Or is it a case that you have to download something like uBlock still?

@samclarke666 Brave not block 1st party ads by default. But you can use element blocker to block those ads. https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018039072-How-do-I-block-additional-page-elements-
