Auto translate Android

Auto tranalate not working Brave browser for Android.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Go to a website that is written in a language that is not the default language.
  2. Page is not tranalating

Expected result:
There would be a button to tranalate the page

Brave 1.76.74, Chromium 134.0.6998.89

Android 14; Build/UP1A.231005.007

Additional Information:
In my particular case I was trying to translate a Russian website to english and I would have to select batches of text and then click translate. I would assume that the translation was taking place through Android and Brave was not handling the translation. When I check under app languages Brave is not listed there, when I check under language packs I Russian is there as I had to download it to be able to select parts of written text and translate like that for each page I was on. Thats why I am guessing that translation wasnt happening within Brave and was being done by the OS. I could be wrong on that point but that is just my guess. Either way it was painfully slow with that method and I thought that there is an auto translate for mobile. I know there is on the desktop versions. I did try to search on here for some answers and I found some people asking but the post expired so there was no one that answered.

I would assume that probably happens a lot as people ask something and dont immediately get back to someone after they respond. I am also guilty of this sometimes but I still would like to figure out whatever it is I am asking.

Thanks for the help.

Same for me on iOS. No autotranslation nor translate buttun in address bar anymore

So there is no translate for android?
Sorry your having the same issue.
Well i hope we get a response here to figure it out, but i have a feeling there isnt a translate feature on mobile

I have same in IOS. No translate button in address bar

No, it is. Normally in address bar occures a little “button” when translation is possible but for some time it does not anymore.

I cant say that i have ever seen it on the mobile version but i knkw its there on desktop. Thats why when i went to use it on mobile i was surprised there was nothing. Not to mention i also did a search for auto translate on mobile and found people talking about the feature being implemented and after that i read that the feature came to the mobile version. I didnt read much passed that or look much more into it as it seems that its something that should already be there.

I do have a translate button when touching the menu below to the right (3 dots). However, since last update the translation fails with a message stating it couldn’t translate the page. Nevertheless those same pages could be translated with last version before update.

v1.79.123 here

SOLUTION: I found out the problem. I push the Community-link on startpage of browser. While it is in English and I am German speaker it (Brave) recommended me to translate from English to German, and now the Translate-option is in address bar and also in settings menu again.

So what did you do to get the translate button to show up?

As I wrote: I did nothing else do as:

Maybe it is different on Android, I am using iOS.
