Assistance Needed: Disabling Tor Functionality in Brave Browser on macOS

Hello Brave Community,

I’m seeking guidance on how to disable the Tor functionality within the Brave browser on my macOS system. While I appreciate the privacy aspects that Tor integration provides, I have specific requirements that necessitate the disabling of this feature.

I have a list of forbidden websites on my hostfiles. Unfortunately, this does not work for Brave (when powered by Tor in private windows).

My objective is to entirely disable or remove Tor functionality from Brave, if possible. If not possible, just hide or disable the option in the browser interface. Or, at least, disable the keyboard shortcut.

Here are my questions:

  1. Is there a way to permanently remove or disable the Tor component within Brave on macOS?
  2. Are there any specific files or directories I should look for in the system to remove Tor functionalities?
  3. Could modifying the DNS settings or hosts file on my macOS effectively block Brave’s access to Tor services, and if so, how can I do this safely?

Thank you for your assistance!
