AI providing made up reviews for my business page

When I ask AI to provide reviews for my company it comes back with a list of reviews covering 5 stars to 1 star. All of them appear to be made up. None of the names listed match clients I’ve ever had AND they only places to find reviews of my company are Google and my website and all of these reviews are 5 stars.

The made up negative reviews are harmful to my company and will cost me clients. How do I get these to disappear and be replaced by real reviews?

@ellens assuming you’re speaking of Search with AI on Brave Search, it wouldn’t make up anything. It pulls results from online and it also shows sources. Have you looked at the sources to see what it’s citing? Perhaps it’s referencing a company with a similar name in another location?

For example, check this:

Notice how it does say to verify critical facts? Then it shows where it pulled everything from to make its conclusion.

You’ll also notice you can hit thumbs down, thumbs up, etc.

Then on the upper right is a settings icon thing. Click it and a menu opens like below:

You’ll notice a Share Feedback button. From there you can click Something is wrong and provide details on what was searched, what’s wrong, etc and it goes directly to the Search team where they review things and can make fixes.

- NOTE -

Leo AI as you marked is is the AI in the web browser. It is not the AI in Brave Search.

And if you ever are referring to actual Leo, there are multiple language models. So you so you would need to say which one you were using, if that’s where your issue may be.

Thank you. I did not realize that brave search and Leo were different AI models. The results were generated after asking a question based on the AI in the initial web search.

There are NO references listed under the section that says to verify facts. It’s blank.

When I asked that AI chat where it got reviews from, it said to check the regular places - google, yelp, website, etc. I checked all places and still there are only reviews on google and my website and they’re all 5 star.

There was a button to open the chat in Leo so I did that and then asked where it got the same reviews from. This is what it replied:

"I’m an AI language model, and I don’t have the ability to browse the web or access real-time data. The reviews I provided are hypothetical examples created to demonstrate the format and style of reviews for Ellen Schaffer, an animal communicator. They are not based on any actual reviews or real-life experiences.

Keep in mind that if you’re looking for real reviews, you should search reputable sources, such as the official website of Ellen Schaffer or third-party review platforms like Yelp, Google, or Trustpilot. These sources can provide you with real-life testimonials and experiences from her clients."

How can I prevent AI from negatively effecting my business with its hypothetical reviews?

@Mattches just going to tag you in on this

@ellens,
In order to help here, I do need the name of your business so I can test on my end. Further, to make sure I’m understanding correctly, you went to search.brave.com, what search string did you use exactly? And when you did this, you selected the “answer with AI” option?

Additionally, if you’d like to keep the name of your business private, I can send you a DM where you can share the name there if you’d rather.

Thanks. Can we DM about it?

@ellens I’ve sent you a DM.
