In the past two to three months, there has been a noticeable change in the behavior of ad-blocking mechanisms within my web browser. Previously, pop-up advertisements were effectively suppressed. However, I’ve observed a new trend where these pop-ups are circumventing traditional blocking techniques. They manifest within a secondary pane on the same tab, giving the impression of a screen-sharing session originating from the server. This pane allows for playback control of video content, but pausing the video triggers a pop-up advertisement. Attempts to close this pop-up inadvertently result in redirection to additional tabs, which is an intrusive and unwanted behavior.
@BharathBro just a FYI, what you’re sharing is of no help to yourself or others. What is necessary would be for people to provide links to such sites as issues are experienced. It also could be helpful to have screenshots or videos of this happening. But to say “somewhere on the vast internet are websites where the adblock doesn’t work like it’s supposed to”…how is that going to help? Can’t make adjustments if can’t see what’s happening and where.
Also important to note is if you’re seeing these on so-called “illegal” sites then you’re more likely to have issues as they plague their sites with all sorts of stuff and constantly switch up sources. They exist to put malware, viruses, trackers, etc on your device. And if they are providing copyrighted materials to you for free, which is against the law, what makes you think they won’t try to do anything they can to steal or corrupt your stuff?
That said, Brave and other adblockers constantly battles it and does a darned good job.
Anyway, would be great if you can provide specific examples rather than an extremely vague post. Thanks!

Which websites specifically? Many of these sites will use revolving ad servers, so blocking one will be changed often too.
Edit: I forgot to mention that this is (still) happening with Brave in Windows (10/11).
Since last two days, it seems like ad block mechanism is missfunctioning, missconfigured or Google found new ways to bypass ad blockers. It is not blocking YouTube ads anymore (ads are showing before playing videos and in general page), nor from job sites like www.vagas.com (ads source is https://www.googleadservices.com/), nor from Yahoo! Mail (same ads source). This site is another example: https://www.essenciabrasileira.com.br/. Brave here is with default shield settings enabled and i’m running latest version (1.64.122 Chromium: 123.0.6312.122).
Yep agreed but it does not show that much Ig you have disabled shield here for me it shows sometimes on YouTube but not as Video ad but on home page the static one And some news site like news18 India maybe its I am India and there is no regulations for ad’s here. Mostly happens in In desktop version I will share Screenshot or video it possible next time with full information.
