As stated in title, please have the option of adding more than 12 sites into the new tab section and the blue section(see image) is too empty, would recommend adding some other information there or it could be used to expand adding more than 12 sites into the new tab section.
So I request you to primarily implement adding more sites into the new tab section.
NUDGE - This post has two parts to the request. Part one, the maximum number of favourites has been addressed, but they are on pages of 12. I would like part two to be implemented, as I want to see all favourites on one page (until the unused space is filled). At the moment the new tab page is mostly wasted.
I also came here to say this. I would like to see more (than 12) favorites on the first page of favorites.
(not necessarily filling the whole page, in my opinion) by maybe there could be a toggle, where it shows only 12 by default, but you can click something to show all at once, and then it remembers that preference going forward until you un-toggle it.
