1Password passkey support on Android

Description of the issue:
I use 1Password across all my devices as my password manager.

I have passkeys set up for numerous accounts of mine.

When I try to log in via a passkey using the brave browser on Android, it brings up the Google passkey dialog: “No passkey available”.

However, if I use another browser, for instance, the Samsung Internet browser, it shows the correct dialog with my passkey from 1Password.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Log into an account that supports passkeys, i.e. coinbase.com
  2. Enable passkey, save the passkey to your 1Password password manager
  3. Log out
  4. Log back in with your credentials
  5. At the prompt “Confirm your passkey” hit “Verify”
You will see the following result:

Expected result:

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Brave for Android 1.63.169, Chromium 122.0.6261.111

Mobile Device details
Samsung S24 Ultra
OneUI version: 6.1
Android version: 14
Security patch level: 1 March 2024

Additional Information:

I have contacted 1Password support and their solution worked.

Enabling Credential Management flag in Brave

  1. Open Brave, then type in brave://flags into the address bar
  2. In the flags page which opens, tap the search box, then search for passkeys
  3. Tap Default under the Android Credential Management for passkeys flag, then tap Enable for Google Password Manager and 3rd party passkeys
  4. Tap the Relaunch button that appears at the bottom of your browser

Now I can save and use third party Passkeys in my Brave browser for Android!

Unfortunately that isn’t cutting it for the autofill… at least not for me anyway.
Howdy, folks! I landed here having taken this step just a few days ago when I read a tweet about it.
As what I need is the autofill capability, I reckon this differs from a passkey situation like the OP had.
From the first photo you can see the how the autofill for my password manager looks like in any given browser, and then how all was done to ensure that in Brave this would also occur—but does not.
