YouTube issues for the last few weeks

Description of the issue:

The last month or so, YouTube is very slow basically to the point of being unusable. Loading videos takes forever, there is ton of buffering time, switching to a new tab or screen is very painful. Everything was reasonably fine before the last few weeks. No other websites are experiencing similar issues.

My other browsers work fine on the same device & internet connection so this issue appears to be isolated to YouTube on Brave.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open and use YouTube.
  2. The entire site is buggy but watching videos is worse than managing playlists, etc.

1.61.116

Additional Information:

I have already tried disabling/removing several extensions, logging out of browser & YouTube, clearing cache + cookies, etc.

No attempts have made any difference.

If you’re using Adblock or Adblock plus extensions, this is the cause of the slow downs.

A fix is being rolled out from them. Until then just temp disable that extension. So not a Google , Youtube or Brave issue. Extension issue. Don’t need Adblock Plus or Adblock extension, Brave shields is 1000% better :slight_smile:

Hi, so I don’t have any add blockers installed, actually no extensions at all installed, and I’m still having this issue, turned off hardware acceleration and still no joy.
