Hi guys I am using Brave to avoid YouTube ads however every time a YouTube ad loads the Brave shield goes up by one but the video freezes for two to ten seconds. this seems to have developed over the last 24 hours and I can consistently replicate it across machines
Brave is up to date
Version 1.71.123 Chromium: 130.0.6723.116 (Official Build) (64-bit)
@isaacery can you please provide the exact steps you take to produce the issue? I am not seeing this on my end.
Can you also please tell me which OS you’re using when you see this??
sorry for the delay. I would assume more people would be complaining if the issue was wide spread. Thanks for your response. I can replicate the issue across multiple machines. When watching youtube, when an ad appears the shield count goes up, but the video will freeze. After 10seconds or so, the page refreshes. I assume ive got some extension that is causing this. Will investigate further.
found the cause. SurfShark VPN Brave extension. Turn this off and the issue goes away.
