Description of the issue:

After a recent update, video stopped working in brave-browser.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

No idea what caused the problem. Agreeing to update left me with no video.

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

When I go to a YouTube video, I get the sound, but no image. Audio works, and thumbnails of video show up when I hover over the progress bar.

Expected result:

Video working.

Reproduces how often:

Whenever I go to a video (mostly YouTube).

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):

Xubuntu 20.04

Version 1.64.109 Chromium: 123.0.6312.58 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:

This also happened on my Xubuntu 22.04 machine. A day or so later, another update came in which fixed the problem. Same brave-browser version on all machines.

I have tried forcing an update, but have been unsuccessful in locating how to do it. I tried

sudo apt remove brave-browser
sudo apt purge brave-browser
sudo apt install brave-browser

but the problem remains.

What do I need to do to restore video on the other versions?
