.vcs file import into google calendar fails


Attempt to import a vcs file into google calendar in brave with shields down results in a message "Oops, we couldn’t import this file. Please try again in a few minutes

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Go to https://calendar.google.com/calendar/r/settings/export?sf=true
  2. Click Select file from your computer - I happened to use the one downloaded from https://www.aapm.org/meetings/cal/icalRSNA.asp?eventID=47&timezone=0&ind_id=false
  3. Click Import

Expected result:
Expected result is OK 52 records Imported

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 0.68.139 Chromium: 77.0.3865.90 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:
This works fine in Chrome Version 77.0.3865.75 (Official Build) (64-bit)

I have also had the same error, which apparently includes all Chrome variants. I was able to import the .ics file by using Microsoft Edge (ptui!), so showing no problem with the file. It is Chrome and Chromium variants which are at fault. Can we expect a fix please? Here is a masked content copy of the .ics file…

Brave version: Version 0.69.132 Chromium: 77.0.3865.90 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Works on other browsers, so ics file is OK.

Having same issue on all calendar imports to Google calendar in Brave. Started about 3 weeks ago. Have had no problems previously. Works fine in other browsers.
