I have two profiles for Brave, one for genealogy research and the other for everything else. I wanted to make sure I could login to Brave Community with the genealogy profile. When I typed in community.brave.com, it looks very different from my everything profile. The genealogy profile seems to be text-only, while my main profile has images. I’m sure this has to do with settings, but it isn’t entirely obvious to me what that would be. I’ve compared settings on both profiles, specifically looked for images, and they’re the same. Here’s the comparison.
You’ll also notice if you look at the lion icon on yours, it shows 33 things being blocked on the site. Then look at mine when Block Scripts was enabled and you’ll see the same thing. So I’d say I’m pretty confident this is your issue.
Also keep in mind you only want to enable Block Scripts if absolutely necessary. Most times it will break content you want/need.
I just checked and Block Scripts is not enabled. I then enabled and disabled it to see if that would make a difference. Nope. Still have the problem.
Then I enabled Block Scripts and went to community.brave.com and looked, then disabled it again and went to community.brave.com. No change.
Just to confirm, where did you look? Which setting did you change?
What bothers me here is that the numbers match as well, where your Shields lion icon is showing you are blocking 33 items. This is the same exact number blocked when I told it to block scripts. That is pretty significant and makes it unlikely for anything else. If you changed the settings at brave://settings/shields instead of through the little Shields widget thing, then that’s the issue on why you changing it didn’t matter. You would need to change it through that widget.
If you do indeed have that with Block Scripts turned off, similarly to how it’s shown in my screenshot there, then I’m not sure why Shields would be reporting it blocked. Next thing would be wondering if you have an adblock extension? I’m not sure which extension it is I see installed on yours.

As some people misunderstand what I’m saying, I’m not calling you a liar or anything. What I’m pointing out is signs are pointing in one direction and if you indeed have checked and it’s not the case, then something really weird is going on. So I like to double or triple check, as it just seems like the problem and solution is right there staring us in the face. Just wanting to get that verification and make sure there are no misunderstandings before having to look at more complicated possibilities.
