Search bar widget stopped working

Description of the issue:
The search bar widget doesn’t work since the update Saturday morning, 07 December, 2019. It isn’t selectable and when tapped on it does nothing. I’ve removed it from the screen and installed the widget again with the same results.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Remove the widget, reinstall it

Expected result:
Search bar widget to be usable

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Brave 1.6.0 Chromium 78.0.3904.108

Seems to work just fine. Your steps don’t seem to be clear enough. Do you mind adding the exact steps you did? Following this works for me without any problem

  1. Clean install / upgrade to 1.6.0
  2. Long press on home screen and select widgets
  3. Select Brave and drag the search bar widget on to home screen
  4. Tap on the search bar and type in a search term and press enter
  5. Opens search result using default SE in Brave
