Recent Tabs > Synced tabs > Open All not working properly

On Android Browser, Recent Tabs > *my PC synced tabs > “Open All” is not working properly. It only opens 4 synced tabs at most even thought I have more than 20 tabs intended to open. If I’ll include the blank tab used to access Recent Tabs then total tabs are 5.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open more than 4 tabs in PC browser, like 10 tabs.
  2. Go to Android browser
  3. Close everything and open blank tab.
  4. Click hamburger menu and go to Recent Tabs
  5. Scroll down and verify that PC’s synced tabs are correct
  6. Hold down device name/category and select “Open All”

Expected result: All synced tabs from PC will open to Android

Actual result: Only 4 synced tabs from PC opened to Android

Brave Version PC: v 1.73.105
Brave Version Mobile: v 1.73.104

Mobile Device details: Android 14, using CMF Phone 1 Nothing OS 2.6

Additional information: I also already did reinstallation and even deleting sync account to start anew. But no changes.

UPDATE: Saw this old post, and I think this is the same from what I’ve encountered. The difference is that, all opened tabs are synced regardless if it’s recently accessed or not. I tried doing “Open All” again from Android after manually accessing at least 5 tabs on PC but there’s no change. The opened tabs on Android after clicking “Open All” is only 4 tabs and they’re not even the recently accessed tabs.

Just tested this and it looks like you’re correct — I’m getting only four of the Synced tabs opened at one time. Looking into this now.

Thanks god that it’s a valid bug. This browser was recommended to me and I just want to seamlessly access my opened tabs on both devices. I saw this similar post and thought that I might need to tweak something on my end since it’s an old issue.

You can track it on GitHub or here if you’d like. Estimated time will vary — I’ve pinged our devs internally in addition to opening the issue so hopefully someone will be able to take a look soon.

Still no dev looking into it. The issue can’t also be reproduced to other devices. I updated my Brave browser to latest and even reinstalled and resynced but nothing changes. It can only open 4 tabs.

@cefrelsa there is a discussion happening in that issue and also internally. Our devs are looking at the issue.

Please note that bugs are not often cleared in one day. It may take time to root out the cause and implement a fix.
