Description of the issue:
I’m having a problem navigating back to the home screen using the back button. This sometimes fails, the browser closes instead of returning to the home screen.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Open browser to show home screen (with Settings > Homepage = Off).
- Navigate to some arbitrary page
- Hit back button
Expected result:
I would expect it to always return to the home screen (until fairly recently it always did), but quite often (not always) the browser now closes instead.
Brave Version( check About Brave):
1.7.102 (though this issue appears to have been present for several versions now).

Nokia 3.1 running Android 9
Additional Information:
Settings > Closing all tabs closes Brave = Off
I’ve noticed this issue occurring on a couple of different phones.
