In Brave Android we have option for top sites widget which include only 4 shortcuts. While people need more shortcuts on NTP to access the sites they visit frequently. It will be better if we have the ability to add those shortcuts manually. It doesn’t depend on our history.
Opera Android have this feature.
On my Brave Android 10 I have two rows of 4 shortcuts each. In any case I agree with you that it’d be appreciated more shortcuts because there is a lot of white space.

Well you can see I have only one row where only 4 icons can accumulate. I’m using latest version of Brave on Android 11.
Don’t know how you have 2 rows.
