Description of the issue:

Unable to have links open into mobile app when directed to Browser from another app

How can this issue be reproduced?

1. Click link from Twitter app
2. Opens into Brave as default browser

Expected result:

In other apps if the link is supported by a different app (Washington Post link, BBC link, CBS link, etc) it would open to Browser but then redirect to app.

Brave Version( check About Brave):

1.18.78

Stock LG V60 ThinkQ

Additional Information:

Issue is only when Brave Browser is the default browser on the phone.

Can you try going into your Android device settings and changing the app permissions there? You can follow this guide to get to the right screen:

However, I believe you’ll need to click the bottom option on the screen they show – the one that says App links. There, you should be able to set the default application that opens if/when the site you’re on/link you click has an associated app installed on your device.

Hey Mattches,

I have already had that set so it did it with the OG browser (see attached).

That was one of the first things I checked, to make sure it didn’t change when I installed Brave.
