Issues Responding to Emails on Outlook on Web using Brave on Macbook Air

Description of the issue:
I have been using Brave to access Outlook on the web and manage my emails. No issues at all until last week. Now, when I try to REPLY to an email, it closes and reopens the Outlook web page. The email ends up in my drafts and I am neither able to edit/add to the reply nor actually send it. I’ve talked to Microsoft and I’ve isolated this to a Brave issue because I do not have the same problem when accessing Outlook from Safari.

Did the issue present with default Shields settings? (yes/no)
I don’t know what this means.

Does the site function as expected when Shields are turned off?
I have made no changes to the Shields unless it came from an update from Brave. I don’t even know how to access them or what the appropriate settings should be.

Is there a specific Shields configuration that causes the site to break? If so, tell us that configuration. (yes/no):
I don’t know.

Does the site work as expected when using Chrome?
I haven’t tried Chrome - I avoid Chrome - but the site works fine on Safari as indicated above.

Brave version (check About Brave):
Version 1.75.175 Chromium: 133.0.6943.54 (Official Build) (x86_64)

In a Brave Browser New Window, go to:

brave://settings/content/javascript

Scroll down that javascript settings page to Allowed to use javascript

Click the Add button

Enter [*.]azure.com as the site . . . but do not Enable the following:

  • Current Private session only

Click the Add button

Repeat for:

  • [*.]cloud.microsoft
  • [*.]hotmail.com
  • [*.]live.com
  • [*.]microsoft.com
  • [*.]microsoft.net
  • [*.]msn.com
  • [*.]office.com
  • [*.]office.net
  • [*.]outlook.com

In a Brave Browser New Window, go to:

  • brave://settings/clearBrowserData

Select the Advanced tab. Time range: All time. Clear cookies and cache.


Also, you might have an extension that is a problem. (Maybe.)

That seemed to work for now. I’ll keep you posted if any other issues come up.

One question: Is there a reason this issue popped up on Outlook and just started last week? It doesn’t happen with other online email programs (e.g., Gmail) and I’ve not had a problem with Outlook until last week.

Despite following the above instructions, this problem resurfaced again today. To the comment about an extension problem, I haven’t added any new ones in months. Do you suggest I erase all of them? However, I’m not convinced that’s the problem since it just started last week.
