IPad won't sync

I’m trying to sync my desktop browser settings to my ipad but it isn’t working. I added the ipad to the chain, but it doesn’t appear in the list of devices. It works fine with my android phone, so I think it may be a problem with IOS.

Which Brave version that you use? Both for iOS, Android, and desktop.

Desktop: 1.13.61 (beta)
Android: 1.12.106 (beta)
IOS: 1.19

Thanks for the info @ViniciusBortoletto.

So, the reason is because desktop + Android have a different Sync version than iOS.

Desktop and Android (v.1.12.x and higher) already use the new Sync v2 while iOS is still using v1. Since v2 is a brand new, separate system, it’ll set up a different sync chain from Sync v1.

Sync v2 will (because it’s not in Brave stable release yet) arrive for desktop and Android (v1.12.x ++) first and iOS support is coming later. https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/360021218111-How-do-I-set-up-Sync-

Sync v2 will arrive later for iOS. Could you define “later”?

If Sync v2 is released this week, then v2 for iOS may came weeks/months later, @Brave_user. iOS implementation will need an extra works.

I’m fully aware that implementing a feature on another OS needs extra work. But Brave has promoted sync as a fully working feature for way over a year now … aware of course of the fact that it never really worked and was not reliable in any way. So you might forgive me (and probably others) that my patience is running a bit low here.

I’m a system administrator myself (though not a program developer) and I understand the challenges that the Brave devs face. But Brave is heavily promoted as being a wonderful new and feature rich browser. And if I use the iOS version of Brave it is hardly even beta. I have no problem with that as long as the devs are honest enough to admit that.

I do however have a huge problem with anybody who is bragging about something that is still beta but won’t admit it because it is bad for marketing.
