Im switching to linux and how do i export ALL DATA from windows10 brave

Description of the issue: i will be backing up all my data when i switch to linux (popOS LTS 20.04 Nvidia) from Windows10 Pro. so, how do i exactly export EVERY single bit of data i have such as (history, bookmarks, passwords & all settings.) How do i exactly do that.

Brave Version(about:brave): V 1.27.109 Chromium: 92.0.4515.115 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Reproducible on current live release (yes/no): No Clue

You can only export bookmarks and saved passwords.

  • Exporting bookmarks → brave://bookmarks.
  • Exporting saved passwords → brave://settings/passwords.

For all other browsing data and settings you’ll need Brave Sync.

What would happen if you just copied the profile directory to the other system? Can an instance on one OS not directly reference the profile data generated on a different OS?

I’ve seen a lot of complaints of users of both Chromium-based browsers and Mozilla Firefox after hard copy-paste, thus I avoid suggesting that at all.

If you think about it, if hard copy-paste was a reliable enough method, both Google and Mozilla wouldn’t waste time in developing importing/exporting functionality, and syncing up to a point.

Fair enough, maybe right. I’d been doing it that way, across Linux and Windows, with Firefox for I think 10+ years and had no issues. But as a recent convert to a Chrom*-based browser I had never tried it there.

i tried jimB1 and it didnt work. well i will find out THANKS
